Artist Statement: Pamela Bates’ expressive and intuitive abstract work is inspired by the nature of the seacoast where she grew up and lives, and the small moments that make life beautiful. The forms, lines, colors and textures in her work evoke sunset meadows (across from her studio) and the beauty and magic of the North Atlantic with laughter, love and joy woven into every layer.
Artist Bio: Pamela Bates is a lifelong creative and New Hampshire artist who has worked in many mediums, including digital, all of which inform her art. An epiphany in front of Singer Sargent’s El Jaleo several years ago, led her to pick up a paintbrush to seek and share radical joy through soul-fueled art. A self-taught abstract painter working in acrylics, watercolors, mixed media and collage, her art is known for colors and marks. Pamela has shown in group and solo exhibits in Boston and NH, and her work is in private collections from Australia to California.
